Abstract

ABSTRACT


Background: The calculation of drug needs at Bhayangkara T, K, III Wahyu Tutuko Bojonegoro Hospital is done manually and is only an estimate, so the results obtained are not optimal. One of the employees at the Pharmacy Installation stated that there were often drug shortages so that they could not fulfill the drug requests from patients. Unpredictable demand and supply delays have forced distributors to borrow medicines needed by hospitals.


Research Subjects and Methods: The design of this study used a pre-experimental method, one group pretest – posttest design with a quantitative method. The population of this study was 1,500 drugs at the Pharmacy Installation at Bhayangkara Hospital T, K, III Wahyu Tutuko Bojonegoro. Sampling using simple random sampling and taken as many as 94. Collection techniques and using observation sheets. The analysis requirements test is the Wilcoxon test.


Research Results: Research on calculating the need for drugs in the Pharmacy Installation before the application was applied, namely as many as 94 drugs were inefficient (100%). Calculation of drug needs after the application of 94 efficient drugs (100%). The results of the statistical test showed that there was an effect with a significant value (0.000).


Conclusion: Seeing the results of the study, it is necessary to use the Microsoft Access-Based Drug Needs Calculation application so that pharmaceutical services can be better.
