Abstract

ABSTRACT


Background: The nutrition installation is a catering service provider for patients, so they must pay attention to the indicators of the quality of the nutrition installation, including the absence of errors in dieting, the timeliness of food distribution, and leftover food that patients do not eat. At the Muhammadiyah Kalitidu Hospital, there is a problem, that is, 25% -50% of leftover food is not eaten by patients. The provision of food intake by patients is influenced by the state of health of the patient and the state of the food served. This is caused by the patient's appetite and condition changing due to the disease. If the food is served as needed, but is not used up, then the food remains. Costs that are wasted on leftovers will result in a less efficient nutrition budget, so that it will have an impact on the food supply budget. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of internal audit on the quality of nutrition services for inpatients at Muhammadiyah Kalitidu Hospital.


Research Method: This research is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study were inpatients who received nutrition services at Muhammadiyah Kalitidu Hospital, with a sample of 30 nutrition services for inpatients in June-July 2019. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The analysis prerequisite test is the Wilcoxon test.


Research Results: The results of this study indicate that the quality of nutrition services before the audit is still not good at 73.3%. The quality of nutrition services after the audit was good at 60%. There is an effect of internal audit on the quality of nutrition services for inpatients at Muhammaduyah Kalitidu Hospital as indicated by a significance value (0.000 <0.05).


Conclusion: The quality of nutrition services for inpatients at Muhammadiyah Kalitidu Hospital before the audit was carried out was still not good. Whereas after the audit was carried out it was good and there was an influence of internal audit on the quality of nutrition services for inpatients at Muhammadiyah Kalitidu Hospital.
